Mr. Segal was born in Cape Town, South Africa and moved to Boston, Massachusetts at the age of seven. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Amherst College in Sociology, where he was a nationally ranked junior tennis player and the Men’s Captain of the Amherst College tennis team.He earned his Juris Doctor Cum Laude from Southwestern Law School where he was an Associate Editor of the Law Review and a CALI Award winner in Constitutional Law.Prior to focusing on workers’ compensation litigation, Mr. Segal spent over a decade as a litigator in subrogation, property insurance, products liability, entertainment law, ADA and asbestos matters. He has also handled commercial litigation and intellectual property cases, defending a variety of Fortune 500 clients. Mr. Segal has handled all stages of litigation, including investigation, discovery, mediation and trial.
Mr. Segal has been awarded with the designation of Rising Star attorney by Super Lawyer Magazine for five years in a row – a distinction given to just 2.5% of lawyers in California.
In his free time, Mr. Segal enjoys spending time with his wife and cheering for Boston sports teams. He is an award-winning screenplay and television writer.
